A young bicyclist found en route from Siem Reap to the Tonle Sap river. Over half of all Cambodians are under the age of 21, as the country still recovers from the brutal genocide perpetuated by the Khmer Rouge. Children seem to be more plentiful in rural areas, often left to their own devices while their parents work, or when school is not in session. Old bikes like this one are ubiquitous in Cambodia, and most children find a way to ride despite the almost comical disparity between body and frame size (it just so happens that this particular kid's bike fits, but every now and then you'll see a tiny 8 year old riding a huge adult bike).
